The Beat Goes on: Borderland Beat Reports 14 Killed in Juarez on Saturday
Chivis Martinez, of Borderland Beat (click here) reports on 14 murders in Juárez on Saturday alone. As is often the case, Borderland Beat, for sound reasons, does not provide sources for their stories. But the blog has been proven to be a reliable source for information about drug trafficking in Mexico since it began operating in 2009, and often reports information not provided by other news outlets. Readers interested in knowing more about the drug war in Mexico will find this blog to be exceptionally well informed. Today's blog is a case in point: one can scan the Juarez daily news media in vain to find these Borderland Beat stories:
**Felipe
Reyes Morales was driving in Juarez, when his vehicle came under
attack. He and his 12 year old daughter were shot in the head and
killed. Three others in the van, his wife and two children were also
shot and seriously injured.
**In another event, a woman and her 14 year old son were killed when armed men burst into their home on Guinea Street.
**A woman was shot and killed as she awaited a person at the shopping plaza on Manuel Talamas Blvd.
